Mini Canterbury Marlowe Day
The afternoon will begin at 2pm with a visit to the Cathedral Archives and Library which holds an impressive collection of manuscripts, historic records, photographs, maps and printed books. The focus will be on materials connected with Christopher Marlowe’s life, especially his time at the King’s School, and items linked to his family.
Following the visit, you are invited to take the short walk to:
Canterbury Cathedral Lodge (Kentish Barn) for presentations (3.15pm-5.00pm).
Marlowe Society Chairman Professor Chris Carr will present a brief review of fantastic new research contributions in this, Marlowe’s 460th Anniversary year. He will also give a new lecture:
“Marlowe’s Conjectured Collaborations: Thomas Nashe, George Peele, Thomas Kyd, Robert Greene and Thomas Watson.”
We are also hoping to have contributions from Dr Christian Taylor and Dr Peter Hodges to highlight the latest inputs from their Podcasts and AQ research.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served in the Kentish Barn.
Tickets for the afternoon events are £10.
