Welcome from the Chairman

Dear Member,

I am delighted to welcome you as a member of the Marlowe Society and sincerely hope that your association with us will be a long and happy one.

I have the privilege of writing to you from the city of Marlowe’s birth and boyhood but our members come from all over the world and share a passion and fascination for the work and life of the great poet and dramatist. We keep in touch through our publications, website, personal contacts and meetings and I very much hope that you will be able to participate in some of these activities. Our London Marlowe Day in February and Canterbury Marlowe Day in May are only two of a growing number of events to which you would be most welcome.

We have now also established an annual Marlowe lecture and continue with our bi-annual celebration in Westminster Abbey. However, we are constantly exploring new ways of enabling members to benefit from joining us and we would be particularly interested to have your views on how we can be of most help to you personally.

Please share with us any aspects of your own interests and activities in relation to Marlowe and do not hesitate to contact me directly if you would like to establish links on a particular topic or area of research.

On behalf of our committee and membership I send warmest greetings and an assurance that we will respond to any communications you may send us as quickly as possible.

Yours sincerely,

Ken Pickering
Chairman
