This event is held to raise funds for the Christopher Marlowe Statue.

Time & Venue: 7.30 pm at St Dunstan’s Church Hall, 80 London Road, Canterbury CT2 8LS.

Limited parking available.

Refreshments on sale. Bring your own bottle(s) of wine.

This fun and friendly day with the Marlowe Society (UK) is for anyone who would like to know more about Christopher Marlowe.

We have a performance of “Marlowe’s Women” by actor Lizzie Willis; a workshop “Arden of Faversham: possibilities for performance”; a talk by Perry Mills, director of the Edward’s Boys acting company in Stratford-Upon-Avon; and a guided tour of the new Marlowe Kit. Plus the Project Spot, where we gather updates on new, current and potential projects.

All ideas are welcome!

The Marlowe Kit in Canterbury

The Kit is housed in the 12th century former Poor Priests Hospital, and is both child- and adult-friendly. There are opportunities to interact with some of the exhibits through immersive activities such as trying on Elizabethan-style clothing, and watching presentations.

The Kit houses an escape room called Marlowe’s Ghost. This is a race against time to escape from a locked room by deciphering clues.

The Marlowe Kit has finally opened. On April 6th, it opened to the public with a free exhibition entitled “Kent’s Remarkable Writers” which focuses on three of Kent’s most distinguished writers: Christopher Marlowe, Aphra Behn and Joseph Conrad.
