AGM at The George Inn
Tickets Details and Programme
The 2014 Marlowe Society Annual General Meeting will take place on Saturday 22nd February at The George Inn on Borough High Street, London. As is traditional, the AGM is set for the weekend closest to 26th February, the recorded date of Marlowe's baptism. As many of you will know by now, this year marks the 450th anniversary of that event.

tel. 020 7407 2056
All members of the society are welcome to attend. There is of course no charge for the AGM itself, but tickets for lunch and the afternoon lecture can be purchased for £18 each. A ticket application form is contained in the documents that have just been mailed to all members, and payment can be made by sending a cheque, SAE, and your details to the Membership & Social Secretary, Frieda Barker, by Tuesday 18th February latest.
The AGM is being held once again at the historic George Inn just off Borough High Street in London. The George, a National Trust owned property, is one of the oldest surviving galleried coaching inns dating back to the sixteenth century, and also boasts literary and theatrical links. Details of the closest tube stations and car parks can be found in this LondonTown.com review of the inn.
This year we are very pleased to welcome former Society chairman Ken Pickering, who is also Honorary Professor of Drama and Theatre at the University of Kent, who will give a talk entitled "Visions of Marlowe at the Marlowe Theatre". Ken has been involved in organising the Marlowe450 celebrations in Canterbury, which comprise productions of Doctor Faustus, The Massacre at Paris, and The Jew of Malta at the Marlowe Theatre and the Cathedral, and a series of related talks by exciting speakers.
